Presenting curriculum in the form of academic circles is an instructional strategy which engages students in active learning by creating space for them to connect and to learn from one another. In circles, students feel safe to take risks—which opens the door to deeper, higher-level thinking and engagement.
In this training, teachers will learn how to use the Circle process and the key elements of Community Building to teach lessons. It embeds the foundational characteristics of Restorative Practices: relationship, trust, and high student accountability into all subject areas.
