Community

At PiRI, we believe community is sacred. Our work transcends traditional programing, it is a movement rooted in connection, culture, and collective healing. We show up for our community in ways that honor both tradition and innovation, creating spaces where every voice matters and every story belongs.

Where We Hold Space

We are blessed to hold Community Building Circles at Fairport Public Library, Irondequoit Public Library, Webster Public Library, and Phillis Wheatley Community Library. These spaces serve as open doors for connection across all populations. To join us, please see our events calendar on the home page

Our Commitment to Connection

Whether through restorative circles, family mediation, or community dialogues, we strive to host events that celebrate connection, honor culture, and uplift joy. We intentionally hold space for people of all backgrounds, recognizing that true justice comes when diverse voices meet in a circle of equity and respect.

Partnerships and Collective Action

We are proud to be a part of the Rochester Peace Collective, advancing restorative practices across the City of Rochester. Through this partnership, we provide Restorative Trainings to organizations and community members, serve families directly impacted by harm, table at events, sharing restorative resources, and building bridges that strengthen our collective movement.

We work closely with families from the City of Rochester to help rebuild relationships, nurture resilience, and create new stories of accountability and love. Our presence is about solidarity, where we walk with our people, not ahead of them.

A Word of Inspiration

Community is more than geography; it is spirit. Every circle we hold is a reminder that we are each other’s medicine. As African American and Indigenous ancestors have long taught us: healing is not an individual act, it is a collective responsibility.
